感應式電筆檢測：排除斷點電纜周圍電線有電源，將斷點的電纜接在火線上，將電筆垂直於導線並向前緩慢移動，若電筆檢測的交流信號突然消失，即該位置向前250px以內處是斷點所在。
使用音頻探測儀：利用單頻或復頻信號測試線路的連續性，識別線路故障的儀器。
電纜故障測試儀：能對電纜的高阻閃絡故障、高低阻性的接地，短路和電纜的斷纖，接觸不良等故障進行測試，配備聲測發定點儀，可準確測定故障點的位置。
